biennale-danzaCapturing Emotions is the name of the 2010 International Dance Festival of Venice, from next 26th May to 12th June 2010. The name of the festival wants to underline the deepest meaning of the dance, described as a workshop of human emotions and shared visions. This year Venice will presents the works of the most innovative national and international choreographers with a special attention to Canada and Quebec, New Zealand and Australia. The program is very big as it counts 36 performances, 5 world premières, 7 European premières and 8 new performances directly from Italy. 20 choreographers, 16 companies, a new off section dedicated to unknown performances, in addition to all the others workshops and meetings with the artists. The Festival shall start at the Teatro alle Tese with Oxigen, namely the new choreography by Ismael Ivo, that will engage the young dancers of the Arsenale della Danza. Soon afterwards it will be the turn of Le Grands Ballets Canadiens de Montréal with Le Sacre Printemps, which has been revised by Stijn Celis, and two jewels by Jirì Kyliàn: Bella Figura and Six Dances. On 3rd June the Monumental by Ros Warby shall be on the stage and afterwards it shall be followed by 3 European premières of the Sydney Dance Company and Roadkill of Splintergroup. Lemi Ponifasio, from the New Zealand, will bring “Tempest without a body” on 5th and 6th June. The Golden Lion for the career will be given to the American choreographer William Forsythe, a leading figure in dance since the Nineties.  Our Reception shall be more than pleased to let you have any additional information about the Dance Festival and invite you to visit our offer page to discover our prices and availability for your next holiday in Venice at the Hotel Alle Guglie.
